I Take Requests[Here's a newspaper's preview story from "I Take Requests 5."] "I Take Requests" is more than just a comedy show -- it's an extravaganza. Featuring elements from all parts of Chris White's entertainment portfolio, it's one of the most ecclectic, original and memorable shows around. The ChallengeIn 2006, stand-up Chris White (Last Comic Standing, XM Radio, HBO Comedy Festival) started taking "requests" from friends, family and strangers -- any subject they wanted to hear jokes about, he would work up a routine, perform it and post it online. Sometimes it's easy (cars, hair), sometimes it's almost impossible (quadratic equations, Newton's third law) and once it was Phil Collins. Since 2007, all of those great challenges have been rolled into one comedy show: "I Take Requests." But it's more than just stand-up -- the night also includes trivia, great comedy videos and a grand finale that gets everybody involved. It's eclectic, clever, goofy and original, and not what you'll normally see in a comedy club act -- check it out and you'll see why the Boston Globe called Chris White a "hidden gem." Check out this clip which rolls together quadratic equations and Newton's Third Law, or view any of the Chris White challenges online at this web page.) Trivia, VideosThe one-hour stand-up routine created from the very best challenge jokes (20 topics and growing!) is the heart of "I Take Requests," but there's a lot more -- crowds get warmed up with trivia contests (an outgrowth of Happy Hour Trivia nights) and some original video sketches featuring Chris and his collaborators. And every show has a grand finale -- a karaoke video that gives everyone the chance to sing along. You won't find another evening quite like it!
