Contact InfoThe staff of Dcstandup (all one of us) is happy to answer whatever questions you might have about stand-up in the DC/Baltimore area; even if we don't have answers, we're can either a) make something up that sounds believable; or b) get you in touch with someone who can answer your questions. You can send your questions to chris@dcstandup.com. Mailing ListWe actually have a mailing list, and we don't sell the info to international spammers or anything along those lines. No, we prefer to sell only to AMERICAN spammers. USA! USA! USA! If you'd like to get occasional news about interesting shows featuring local stand-up talent, you can send a message to news@dcstandup.com. FAQsI do stand-up, can I be listed on the site? Sure you can. If you're an active member of the DC / Baltimore stand-up or comedy community (meaning you're trying to perform at least every one or two weeks, even if it's just open mics for now), we'd be happy to have your profile listed. There is a small annual fee (it's what covers our web hosting bills). For more information, e-mail chris@dcstandup.com. Why isn't COMEDIAN X listed? Because we hate them. There, are you happy? Actually, this isn't a comprehensive listing of comedians; people who are listed are on here voluntarily. If you think someone should be listed, have them send me an e-mail -- chris@dcstandup.com. I don't have my profile on Dcstandup, can I still send in news or info on my shows? Obviously, we give some extra attention to people who are listed on the site, but we're still happy to list your shows, if they're cool. Especially if you're running an open mic or anything along those lines -- e-mail your info to chris@dcstandup.com. We're also happy to put any "cattle calls" on our Monoblog page. Alerting the local scene to any audition or performance opportunities is one of the site's primary goals. You have inaccurate info, you jerk. That's not a question. But, if something on the site is wrong, just chime in -- we'll fix it as quickly as possible. (A lot of people do not pass along word of a open mic's demise, for example ...) Is there more info on improv or sketch comedy? There is, but I don't have the time right now to make up listings of improv troupes and venues. If anyone else wants to assemble that information I'd be happy to post it. Can I cut off your head and absorb your quickening? Get in line. |
READING ROOM: On occasion we get humor pieces from comedians -- you can find them all archived in our Reading Room.
