Freddi Vernell
Freddi used her experience behind the scenes as an opportunity to learn the art of stand-up by watching then up and coming comedians such as D.L. Hughley, Teddy Carpenter, Bill Bellamy, and many others. Even though she had a dream job at an early age, she was forced to chose between comedy and college. The decision wasn't hard because she got fired! After graduating and building a successful career, she realized that something was missing in her life besides a tall rich man. She missed comedy. A friend and Oprah Winfrey (several episodes) encouraged her to live her passion. She reconnected and embraced her inner clown, and built an impressive resume in a short period of time.
Ms. Vernell has opened for national acts, done voiceovers, and hosted numerous events. Her face was seen on bus and subway ads for Comcast Television and she has written for a Radio One personality. Last year Ms. Vernell was chosen as one of Jamie Fox's Laffapalooza New Faces of Comedy, and was also a semi-finalist in Baltimore's Funniest Person Competition. Just this year she taped for HBO Mobil in conjunction with Def Comedy Jam. In the near future, Ms. Vernell's jokes will be downloadable from HBO.com. Freddi is currently producing her own Public Access Television show that will be completed by 2008. Her latest accomplishment to date is being crowned Washington DC's "Funniest Federal Employee"! So You Want To Keep Up With Ms. Thang??Check out her performance schedule at http://www.myspace.com/freddivernell. |
