Leo Goodman is a comedian and an actor hailing from that lovely almost-New-York that is Long Island. Drawing on a background of theatre acting, he brings an energetic style to the stage with jokes ranging from the observational to the just plain weird. Having performed at clubs in New York, Boston, and London, and being called things like “hilarious,” “original,” and “f---ing wanker,” he moved down to Maryland in the fall of 2004 and burst onto the DC comedy scene like an 8th grade science project. You know, the one where the teacher says to mix this thing with that other thing only you’re not really listening and so you put the wrong thing in and then it fuzzes up and for a second you’re all like “oh, pretty,” but then it gets out of control and suddenly there are chemicals everywhere and people are screaming and oh god is it poison or acid or just food coloring who really knows but it’s everywhere and you’re crying because you’re afraid and then people are laughing and pointing and you try to put it behind you maybe by moving to another state like Maryland maybe that will be far enough to escape the secret shame but really can you ever get away from your own memories?

Leo performs at numerous venues throughout the area, as well as doing plays with local theatre companies. So between that and his stand-up, if you don’t manage to see him somewhere, well, you’re just not really trying, then, are you?
