Mike Diesel began doing stand-up comedy in 1988 in Washington DC at various “Open-Mic’s” around town. He was just doing silly impressions back then, but it was enough to get him noticed by the owner of The Comedy Café in downtown Washington DC and Mike was asked to be a regular Host/MC. This was the beginning of what has now gone on to become a storied career. Mike has become a fantastic comic, tapping into stories of his youth as well as going after current day subject matter with a vengeance. Mike is an accomplished commercial actor, a voice over specialists, and he has been running a very successful comedy venue called Wiseacres Comedy Club for the last 7 years. He is now completely comfortable with who he is, he has established a great life for himself, along with the help of his wife Patience, who is a constant source of strength and tolerance. Mike has also taught classes in stand-up comedy at Wiseacres for free: “We don’t teach them how to write comedy, we teach them the business of comedy.” In Washington DC a new comic, Chris White, was quoted in the Washington Post, “If you want to work the road in comedy, the path begins with Wiseacres Comedy Club and Mike Diesel.”

Mike Diesel has appeared in five local commercials, HBO’s “The Wire” and has had roles in two independent films. One of them, “Despiser” can be found at Blockbuster Video. The producer, writer and director of “Despiser,” Phillip Cook, recently said about Mike, “He was a real pro. We asked him to do a lot and he did it, no questions asked. The only thing that was difficult was for us all not to laugh, Mike was so funny on the set.” Phillip Cook can be reached at EagleFilms.com.

Mike has produced numerous corporate shows. Jennifer Horvath, events coordinator for the Ashburn Community Center says, “Each year we have one show that everyone around our area looks forward to and it is our annual Valentines Day Comedy Show. Every year we are amazed at the level of talent Mike is able to bring in. We also loved it we he decided to do the show one year himself. He was just brilliant!”
