Naomi Johnson

Naomi recently returned to stand-up comedy after a 14-year hiatus and disillusionment with the so-called “real world” which looks and feels nothing like MTV at all. A mild-mannered consultant by day, Naomi started doing comedy in Philadelphia in 1991 and brought down the houses at clubs such as the Funnybone, the Saw Mill Inn and the Chestnut Cabaret. No, really, she literally brought them down. Those clubs don’t exist anymore.

Naomi’s brand of humor is best described as “funny”. When pressed, some of her fans have elaborated: “Naomi stands there and just makes me laugh. She’s just so funny—in a good way”. The Post has declared her a “tour de force”; the Washington Times exclaimed that her performances are “Better than Cats!” The National Enquirer proclaimed “Boy Trapped in Refrigerator Eats Own Foot”.

Naomi hosts a weekly comedy showcase and talk show at the Old Town Theater in Alexandria, VA. She also performs regularly at Zigs Bar and Grill (Alexandria) as well as Dr. Dremos (Clarendon) and Freddie’s Beach Bar (Crystal City). C’mon up and see her sometime.
