Ron Bender

ariochsix@yahoo.com / MySpace page

Born and raised in Maryland, years of schooling taught Ron the thrills and pleasures of making people laugh, as he was a practicing nudist. Soon he was literally hanging out with many comedians, picking up some bad habits along the way. In no time he found himself hooked on phonics. The next several years were a blur of consonants, syllables, and sentences of community service, laying the groundwork for success on stage (though now fully dressed).

He cut his teeth on stages in, around, and on top of the Baltimore area, performing for and on several potent forms of medication. His offbeat humor and the loud scratching of heads caught the attention of Jim Wiggins, the Last Hippie In America. Jim and other headliners encouraged Ron to try the comedy scene in Chicago. After performing on every stage he stumbled upon, Ron returned to the east coast, wiser, funnier, and one step ahead of several drunken mobs.

Due to his popularity and inspired work with unborn porcupines, he is currently featuring all over the country, getting laughs at clubs, colleges, and on Comcast television (again, with his clothes on). In 2007, he also claimed top honors at SchizoBill’s Insane Comedian contest, and was a semi-finalist in the 2008 Great Canadian Laugh Off. So look for him, or better yet, request him at a college or comedy club near you.
